What Wikisource is

Hi, I have not used Wikisource before, but my understanding is that we do not edit content in the way we do on Wikipedia, we simply reproduce published works. Explanation of reversions

At Wikisource our task is to reproduce the text of works as they are published—with typos and errors in grammar and punctuation. Some of the changes you have made in the Crystallography article in EB1911 are not in the published text, thus my reversions. As @Steelpillow: mentions above, we don't edit the content. If a page is marked in yellow (proofread), then going through it with a second pair eyes to ensure that the content matches the printed text is a very useful thing to do. But I must admit that I don't understand why on top of providing a scanned version of the original text, Wikisource provides an editable text, but forbids fixing little mistakes in it... In my opinion, while we are working on this text, we should make a Wikisource edition, even better than the 11th edition! B-) JavBol (talk) 15:35, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Our primary mission is to provide the text as published, which makes it available as a RS for Wikipedia. "Fixing" the text is an annotation and can only be done in a separate copy of the text (see the linked policy). Alternatively, WikiBooks may be happy to host a "fixed" text. But on the Crystallography article of EB1911, I can see just very few little mistakes (apart from a false figure, but fixing a figure would probably not be considered as annotating it)... So, is there already on Wikisource an annotated version of the Crystallography article of EB1911, please? :-P JavBol (talk) 20:01, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Little mistakes to fix in a potential «annotated» copy of EB1911 Crystallography article

• On print p. 583 = WS p. 605:
  • « [...] two tetragonal prisms (a and m,) two tetragonal bipyramids (e and p), and one ditetragonal bipyramid (x, with 16 faces). »
  • « [...] two tetragonal prisms (a and m), two tetragonal bipyramids (e and p), and one ditetragonal bipyramid (x, with 16 faces). »
