Moved authors to Author: namespace edit

G'day. I have moved the author pages that you recently created to the Author: namespace. We leave the main namespace for works. -- billinghurst (talk) 11:15, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

No need to recreate the pages, as noted above that they have been moved. You can find them at Special:Contributions/JoshuaSlanders -- billinghurst (talk) 09:55, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

World English Bible edit

As a general rule, Wikisource only publishes works that have been previously published, and those without editing. While we do undertake some translations, like Bible (Wikisource), Bible (World English) is an existing published bible, so we don't change what it says.--Prosfilaes (talk) 13:02, 29 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Once again, texts with (World English) after them are not to be edited; they say what they say, whether or not you like the translation.--Prosfilaes (talk) 14:29, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Dude, what the fuck is Bible (Wikisource)/Additions to Daniel? Is it a new Wikisource translation, or is it part of the World English bible? Are you listening to anything here?--Prosfilaes (talk) 16:12, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Where are the sources for Genesis coming from? edit

Where are the sources for Genesis coming from? If it's a modern reconstruction or your own reconstruction, then it's not appropriate for Wikisource.--Prosfilaes (talk) 20:16, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have investigated these new texts a little, and initiated a discussion about them at Wikisource:Proposed deletions#The Sources for Genesis.

Are you listening to comments? edit

Hi Joshua. You are modifying certain texts in means that seem contrary to current practice, and there has been queries to you about this, yet no obvious change in behaviour. It would be good for you to address the issues, rather than blithely continue with a level of disregard. I doubt that continuing with that practice would be looked upon favourably by the community. -- billinghurst (talk) 01:45, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

The Book of the Secrets of Enoch edit

I moved this work to a new name The Book of the Secrets of Enoch, because pages beginning with "Bible (Wikisource)" are reserved for a new and free translation, if someone wants to create one from the original text. John Vandenberg (chat) 14:33, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Moses edit

Hi, I've deleted this page, as author pages belong in the Author namespace, and Author:Moses already exists there. Jude (talk) 10:18, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bible (World English) edit

Please cease your edits of this text. The World English Bible is a previously published text, unlike Bible (Wikisource). Jude (talk) 07:56, 9 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop undocumented and unreferenced changes to texts edit

The discussion has been noted to you, and there has been no response from you. You made these changes [1] and [2] to established texts. You have provided no details of the source or your reasons for these changes, and this is unacceptable for a community provided text. I invite you to join a discussion here about your editing style and how it can be more acceptable and in tune with our community. Non-participation will result in a reference to the WikiSource community for how we can deal disruptive edits from an unresponsive editors.-- billinghurst (talk) 11:19, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Temporary block on editing edit

Hi Joshua. I have placed a temporary block on your ability to edit WikiSource, with the exception of your user and user_talk pages. We need for you to address the concerns that have been addressed to you so that we can work together as a community. Thanks, and apologies for having to take this action, however, your reluctance to discuss this is not understood. -- billinghurst (talk) 12:54, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Addendum: The place to dispute the block is here. I will put a note to other administrators of my actions and they can listen to your reasons and decide whether I have been overstretched the tools made available to me. -- billinghurst (talk) 12:57, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bible (Wikisource) edit

Hi, you have added two more pages to Bible (Wikisource):

Did you translate these from original texts? If you dont respond, we will need to delete those two pages.

If you would prefer to discuss this via email, please email me at jayvdb gmail.com. Regards, John Vandenberg (chat) 01:05, 15 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have deleted these two, as they are mostly redundant to other pages. We can restore them if you a) talk with us and b) point out which original sources you are translating from. John Vandenberg (chat) 04:22, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
