Sources

It isn't necessary to set up the Source template on a work's Talk page when the pages are transcluded from a scan. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:12, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I have a request for Layout 2: create a parameter

{| style="width:{{{width}}};

to match the one set in the printed page. (I counted the number of M dashes to 43.) - Odontocetes (talk) 15:09, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wikisource does not try to preserve that level of formatting detail. Unless there is some structural reason to limit width on a page, we don't do so. We have a limited number of pre-fabricated layouts that we use, especially for poetic and dramatic works, but we don't apply them when there isn't some specific structural benefit. The principle for Wikisource is that we're presenting the work of the author, not the work of the typesetter. --EncycloPetey (talk) 00:29, 26 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wikidata

edit

If you've created a Wikidata item for the edition, and linked the Wikisource page to the Wikidata item at Wikidata, then you do not need to specify the Wikidata item in the header. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:12, 2 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
