Adding source edit

Hi PM. If you are adding works like After Many Years‎ without the aid of a scan to support the text, then would you be so kind to add the source of your work to the talk page of the work. We would normally do this using the {{textinfo}} template. We do this as we can often get different {{versions}} of works, and we need to be able to separate them by source, and for enWS this is akin to a citation at enWP. Thanks for your assistance with this. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:45, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Category:Banjo Paterson poetry edit

Please do not add authorship categories. Categories on Wikisource are never used for authorship. Works by each author are listed on the author's "Author:" space page. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:37, 22 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

author copyright templates edit

There are two predominant author templates for old works

  • {{PD-old}} where born 1914 and before (soon to be 1915)
  • {{pd/1923|xxxx}} for pre 1923 where xxxx = year of death; then
  • 1923 onwards we get into a mishmash of author criteria as explained at Help:Copyright tags

The Lion's Whelps edit

Hi Perry,

I have made some changes to page /54 and /55 to bring them more in line with our current standards. See the revision history for each page for some explanation of the changes, and please feel free to ask here or on my talk page if anything was unclear.

I have also deleted The Lion's Whelps and then recreated it as a redirect to The Secret Key and Other Verses/The Lion's Whelps so that existing links to the old title do not break. In future, it is better to move the old page to its correct location and then replace the contents with the new scan-backed version (provided they are actually from the same edition of course). That way you preserve revision history, you get a redirect automatically, and MediaWiki will automatically preserve the link to Wikidata. Xover (talk) 07:42, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Xover, many thanks. I'll have a look through your amendments and incorporate them into the previous "proofread" pages here and also incorprate them into future changes. Perry Middlemiss (talk) 23:05, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
