History of Art in Persia

This work is missing several scans of pages, which is why it hasn't been proofread. Someone will need either (a) to find a good scan and replace this one with it at Commons, or (b) to determine which pages are missing, find replacement copies, and edit the source file.

Until we have a corrected source file, it isn't worth trying to create pages or adjust the Index page. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:32, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Page numbering

Marks such as "A2" and "B2" at the bottom of a page are usually not page numbers. They are probably bindery marks used to indicate the order of binding the book. We don't usually transcribe them, although they can be placed in the footer if there is a real reason to do so for a particular book.

In books with large sections that have no page numbers (especially for the front matter), it can be convenient to assign roman numerals, and many libraries will do this when indicating the number of pages for a catalog. Some editors here prefer to give each page a description of its contents, but when multiple pages all have the same description, it becomes difficult to tell which pages are which, and makes it impossible to link to a particular page when the text is transcluded. --EncycloPetey (talk) 14:17, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi. This work that you have uploaded is missing much information that we would normally have. Would you be so kind to add further detail into the {{book}} template in the file. Thanks.

Wherever possible scans are uploaded to Commons, unless they are not out of copyright in their home country. Once you have added the detail we can work out whether we should be moving this scan to Commons or retaining here. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:08, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Umm, please would you properly put information templates and data onto files. We always try to put our files to Commons, and these will need to be relocated, AND they need to be properly documented to be moved. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:21, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
