Please do not include categories containing works within categories for authors. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:05, 2 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I completely agree. but there should be some convenient way to get from presidents to their works & speeches. שילוני (talk) 22:08, 2 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
That is what our Author pages are for; we use the Author: namespace instead of the Category: namespace for that. Each president has an author page, where all his speeches will be listed chronologically. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:10, 2 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Category:Occupations

edit

Sorry if I confused you, but it seems Category:Occupations is for books and articles about occupations, not for author categories by occupation. --EncycloPetey (talk) 15:55, 7 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

and why did you link "Bible (King James)/1 Maccabees" to the Greek? שילוני (talk) 16:12, 7 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please proof-read my work

edit

I would like it if you could review:

  1. Translation:Exodus - chapters 23 and 25-31, which I edited significantly
  2. Translation:Isaiah - chapters 39 (taken from the parallel text in Kings) and 40 (taken from World English Bible), both proofread opposite the original Hebrew of Isaiah
  3. Translation:Psalms (Hebrew) chapter 104, also from World English Bible and proofread opposite the original Hebrew

I would like it if you could double-check these. Soren of GaHoole (hoot) 17:39, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK. I'll try to start going over it on the weekend. שילוני (talk) 20:03, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
By the way, interesting observation about the word כסא. I never noticed this. Yes, I did check it out for myself, and found 4 exceptions - 3 about Eli the priest and 1 about the room the Shunem woman prepared for Elisha - out of 127. Soren of GaHoole (hoot) 10:28, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm very glad you noticed! Along the lines of your comment- I've reached a definite conclusion that Eli was a king. And he bequeathed that position to Samuel, as his foster son.
As far as Elisha - I strongly suspect that he held some important political position. Especially in that specific story. (see 2 Kings, 4:13)
If you're interested in more details - be in touch & I'll send you. (are you fluent enough for me to write to you in Hebrew?) שילוני (talk) 11:02, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Translation:Shulchan Aruch

edit

Hello. May I ask you to have a look at the page Translation:Shulchan Aruch/Orach Chaim/507 and check 1) whether the Hebrew text is correct there and 2) whether the English translation is good of at least acceptable? Thank you very much! Jan Kameníček (talk) 14:20, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
