Cross-namespace redirect edit

Hi. I have moved the shortcut WS:SM to H:SM as otherwise it is a cross-namespace redirect. -- billinghurst (talk) 11:39, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

You need a {{nop}} edit

If the spaces collapse, place

and you can do it liberally, and it all works. We usually do this at the end of a page where it ends with a paragraph. There is also {{blank line}} however we prefer

as it takes no server cycles. billinghurst sDrewth 08:52, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

unvalidated edit

Apologies, I went to create Page:Defence of Fort M'Henry broadside.jpg for a new page with that title when I realised it already existed and was being used on the 'spangled' page. I applied a bit of formatting and carried on. Then I noticed your recent edits on my watchlist and that I had marked it as proofread. Assuming you are happy with the changes, you could revalidate the page - I'm not allowed. Regards, Cygnis insignis (talk) 18:50, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Better formatting than I did. Done. Blurpeace 20:00, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you interested, I filled in a couple of associated redlinks. Searching on the title turned up Page:Pocock's Everlasting Songster.djvu/61, which would allow The Anacreontic Song to link two versions. Getting the variants for Star-spangled Banner would even better, valued and high-traffic targets, I might get to it one day though it is well beyond my scope. Cygnis insignis (talk) 21:40, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Definitely. I'll eventually get to proofreading those pages. Thanks, Blurpeace 06:40, 24 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Apologies again: I forgot to thank you for correcting the redlink on the main page, not a small oops. Cygnis insignis (talk) 19:14, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Page:On the Sublime 1890.djvu/14 edit

I tried to combine outdent and gap in this page to fix the spacing problem. I've not changed the problematic page status, up to you to decide if it's the right way to handle such page. Phe (talk) 11:08, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Plus I did create {{hanging indent inherit}} or {{hii}} and on the above page I have coded underneath Phe's for your consideration. I think that I have coded it so that it needs less, though, there may alterations required. The documentation does need work. — billinghurst sDrewth 17:09, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you both! The template has made formatting much cleaner and the {{outdent}} option was really informative. Much appreciated, Blurpeace 00:50, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Apologies edit

My internet got disconnected while you were helping me out with the book in the irc channel. It is raining cats and dogs here, so I'm getting disconnected often. unsigned comment by Saratchandra (talk) 14:40, 22 July 2010.

No problem. Get back onto IRC or drop your questions here whenever. Sincerely, Blurpeace 00:56, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Is it OK to wipe the pages of Outlines of European History.djvu? edit

Following User:Tannertsf's request on Scriptorium, would it be OK to delete the pages for Index:Outlines of European History.djvu (blanking the document)? Apparently, his class needs to work on the book themselves. As the uploader and major contributor, I think your permission should be required before going ahead with Tannertsf's request. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 11:49, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

While I'm only a little slighted that my work has to be cleared (especially because the editor didn’t bother to ask me first), if it's all for a class, I have no problem. Though I'm not sure why they can't just use the few pages that I did create as a starting point, the class probably has their reasons. Thanks for asking, Blurpeace 18:20, 11 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I've done it now. I will undelete the pages if nothing happens to this work. Even if it does, I'll probably undelete them so they show up in the history again. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 19:26, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:The Oxford Book of English Verse, 1250-1900 (1906).djvu edit

Hi, I've proposed that the above file be deleted. Please see discussion at Wikisource:Proposed deletions#File:The Oxford Book of English Verse, 1250-1900 (1906).djvu. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 06:36, 31 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Index:Outlines of European History.djvu redux edit

Hi. As nothing has happened to this work for over a year now (and I'm told that the user who made the request for resetting the work won't be back in the medium term) I have put back your original contributions and kept anything useful from his work. I've also removed the "please don't touch this" notice. Over to you if you want to continue with it. Cheers, Beeswaxcandle (talk) 06:37, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that, Beeswax. Shame the entry didn't go anywhere. I've placed it on my watchlist if I ever decide to return to the project. Blurpeace 00:25, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Malthus edit

Discussion moved to User talk:Chris55#Reaching out

Hi, Blurpeace,

Wait a few minutes - I'm just doing a match and split on the existing pages in the mainspace. It'll mean a much pleasanter proofreading task than trying to change all the f's to s's. It's one of the works I've intended to look at and your edits spurred me on. Chris55 (talk) 11:48, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ok. it's done the preface and chapter 1 and is chuntering on so you can start. One thing to watch out on is that it often gets the page split wrong by 1 or 2 words. I corrected the chapter headings but not the others. There are a couple of large footnotes missing. Happy proofing! Chris55 (talk) 11:59, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I notice you've rendered the first couple of pages of the preface using the old convention of f's for intermediate s's. I believe it's Wikisource policy to render these in present day orthography, though I'd have to look up chapter and verse. The match and split version certainly uses the modern convention. Ok? Wikisource meetup at Wikimania 2014 edit

Wikimania 2014 will be held in London this August and it will be a great opportunity to discuss how to use the recently created Wikisource Community User Group to coordinate and to better promote Wikisource. We would like to invite the participants of each Wikisource language community to showcase the projects has been working in the past year and, of course, learn from each other experiences. See you there? Sign up in the meeting page.
The preceding MassMessage was sent by Micru to the members of the Wikisource Community User Group according to this delivery list (sorry the duplication if you already received the message through the ws mailing list).--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:55, 13 May 2014 (UTC) Reply
