and now ... edit

Congrats on your first completed work, well done. Now you get the pleasure of listing it on template:new texts so that it displays on the main page. Add it to the top, and remove the bottom of the list to the archive section lower down. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:10, 30 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

{{nop}} sits on a new line on its own edit

Hi. When using "nop" please put it on a new line after the paragraph, and on its own. The purpose of using {{nop}} to terminate a paragraph in the Page: ns, is to stop mediawiki from gobbling up the empty line. Otherwise when we transclude the pages the paragraph on the next page just merges. :-/ Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:33, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Author of Act edit

Hi! Author of an Act is not the Government. Government authors the Bill and presents it to the Parliament. The Parliament passes, i.e., authors, the Act. Hrishikes (talk) 06:12, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Hrishikes, I've changed it, as you suggested. Thanks! Ciridae (talk) 06:15, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
The Constitution of India (original one) was authored by the w:Constituent Assembly of India, there was no parliament at that time. Acts dating from the British era were authored by the w:Imperial Legislative Council in the post-Mutiny period and by the Governor General of India in Council before that. Moreover, the Parliament of India, not being a person, is suitable for portal space, not author space. Hrishikes (talk) 07:05, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Hrishikes, Can you do the needful then? Ciridae (talk) 07:06, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I am now actively engaged in another project. However, I had uploaded all those laws; and I have also arranged Portal:India, containing the acts and other documents. So please feel free to proceed with the work, you are already doing a very good job. Hrishikes (talk) 07:10, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thanks for your guidance. --V.narsikar (talk) 15:11, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sidenote and ref edit

I have changed this page a bit; Sidenotes will look ok on transclusion, but begin & end templates required. I have also standardized the reference formatting, this is the style generally used here. Hrishikes (talk) 17:09, 8 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Hrishikes, Thanks! I'd forgotten the begin and end templates altogether!! Ciridae (talk) 17:13, 8 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Header links edit

The Header links to Wikipedia, Commonscat, and Categories need only be added to the primary page for the work. We do not include them on the pages for individual chapters. --EncycloPetey (talk) 10:15, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

This also applies to licensing. If the book is all a single work by a single author, with a single license, then we place the PD-notice on the primary page only, and not in each chapter. --EncycloPetey (talk) 10:17, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Indian Copyright Law edit

This should not be redirected to the 1957 version. This is the WS updated version and has a practical necessity, for linking to various PD-India templates and otherwise referring to the Indian Copyright Act as it stands today. The original and its amendments can stay separate from this, I think. Hrishikes (talk) 15:30, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

New uploads of separate laws edit

I think separate uploads of Indian laws is no longer necessary. For example, Index:The National Institutes of Technology, Science, Education and Research (Amendment) Act, 2014.djvu is already present at djvu page 126 of Index:Acts of the Parliament of India 2014.djvu. Hrishikes (talk) 05:02, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Very well. It would result in duplication of effort, so I guess we could avoid that. What do you suggest we do with the works that are already transcluded? It would be best if we let them be for now while the yearly collection is transcluded. Ciridae (talk) 05:07, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yes, agreed. Hrishikes (talk) 05:14, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank You edit

Thank you for adding the March Monthly Challenge category to the Indexes. Much appreciated! Languageseeker (talk) 01:27, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Index:Addams - 1902 - Democracy and Social Ethics.djvu edit

I've been validating the individual pages, and I see you were the proofreader. The two last Adv at the bottom right-hand side are still waiting to be proofed. Can you proof them? Everything else looks good so far. Maile66 (talk) 22:42, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Maile66: Thanks! I generally don't bother doing Ad pages as they're not considered part of a work. Please feel free to proofread them if you like. Ciridae (talk) 05:26, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

MC edit

Thanks for all the work you've been doing to help with the monthly challenge. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:20, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
