Poetlister

Greetings, I admit I'm a little confused why you wouldn't trust Poetlister "to edit a page", when he/she/it has already edited over 2,000 without any problems? I'm of the opinion that off-site drama shouldn't be used to judge people here, your ex-boy/girlfriend may say you're a lying cheat, or you may get fired from your job for stealing company documents - why does that affect Wikisource? I don't trust Poetlister; nit-picking the exact words I used doesn't change that. (yes, he/she has edited pages before; big friggin' deal, doesn't mean I trust him/her)

Cheating on a significant other is very, very different than the wiki-related shenanigans (for lack of a better phrase) that Poetlister is pretty damningly accused of. Malicious sockpuppetry is hardly "off-site drama". EVula // talk // 19:41, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

There is a Cabal

Hey, I'm the local corrupt Administrator who sells votes for work on the Wikisource:Collaboration of the Week, why not take a few minutes of your afternoon and help us out, even suggest a favourite author for our future focus. The idea is that if we all sacrifice five, fifteen or twenty minutes a week to add a text by somebody else's favourite author on WS, then later we all put add texts by your choices, etc. This week we're focusing on Author:John McCrae as we hope to add texts in time for the November 11th Commonwealth Memorial Day to help WikiRadio have texts to read out on-air, and such. Just don't forget to watchlist the author, since we're focusing on "influential" authors as much as possible, it means the more admins watchlisting the author, the better protected it is from vandals in the future as well! I'm pretty much crap at finding and collecting materials (I did find a book a couple of weeks ago, but it is currently MIA since I just moved); my strengths lie in proofreading and patrolling. Template:DJVU page link

Hello,

Most of the time, the page numbers are aligned to the right. It is the first time that I see such a case, with two page numbers on the same line. Actually this template, although quite useful, has some problems. If you use it instead of plain links, colors on page numbers do not appear in the table of contents in the main index page as they do here: Index:Arte or Crafte of Rhethoryke - 1899.djvu. Could it be possible that the alignment parameter is optional, eventually right by default? Yann (talk) 09:20, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll play around with some code to see if I can make it an all-or-nothing tag (ie: align=no means no div). Even a div with a different alignment would cause it to line break, since divs are block-level elements.

Not sure what you mean by the colors not working; Index:The ransom of Red Chief and other O. Henry stories for boys.djvu uses the template (example) and the colors are fine. EVula // talk // 10:31, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Comus

At Page:Comus.djvu/21 I see that you deleted the page. I have purged the file at Commons, and the text layer now loads. I am not sure how well we are going to do merging the text as there look to be differences between Comus and the version. Welcome back

Glad that lifus interruptus is in partial abatement. Not a whole lot has changed. Still the occasional bickering, the same old tools, and general great works and efforts being produced. Do have a look at some of the additions to {{header}} and we have done a fair bit of work in the Portal namespace under AdamBMorgan's efforts for a framework. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:39, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I figured I wouldn't find this place to be too different from how I left it. What really kicked off this whole "oh yeah, I need to get back to Wikisource" thing (aside from life opening up a bit) was moving the dozen+ old books that I salvaged from the flood last year. The books are wrecked, but I grabbed as many pre-1920-published books as I could; whenever I have time (hah!) I'm going to slice them up, scanning each page, to get posted up here. Flood affected? Major bummer. They have been major around the world. Do hope that you have recovered, at least some sanity. I don't want to make another pass at adminship until I know I'll actually be able to stick around again; I could probably pass easily enough, but the chief objection would be that I wouldn't use the tools and, at this point, it's a valid argument.
As for the flood, yeah, it was pretty bad. It actually didn't affect me at all; the books came from a friend's friend who used to be a used book seller. His house was filled with literally thousands upon thousands of books, but he lived right by the Cumberland River, so he got flooded out (seriously, the guy literally kayaked into his kitchen). A lot were totally ruined; the bibliophile in me really hurt to help him clear out everything and see all these books that were destroyed. :( EVula // talk // 14:24, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

International Standard Name Identifier

I'm not sure what went wrong when you edited {{authority control}} but I've amended the ISNI entry to link properly. See Author:Jean-François Champollion, for example. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 21:50, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

See Author:Edward Porter Alexander; I copied and pasted the ISNI number straight from Wikidata (which had spaces), and as a result, the link is broken. Now, it might just be that the spaces need to be removed, but in an ideal world, the template could take the broken-up number and still work.

Or, we could just say "well, it doesn't work with spaces, dumbass, so take them out. Silly EVula," and that could work too. :) EVula // talk // ☯ // 04:13, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Heh, I was just thinking about this the other day.
I'm not gone for good, but I just don't have the same amount of time to devote to wikis these days (and the Wikidata changeover effectively kills a lot of the fun I had mapping out interwiki links).
