If you are interested in dedicating the time to transcribing them (it will neither be quick nor simple), there are scans of all five volumes of Jowett's translations from Plato. I could set them up over the next few days for transcription. Wikisource currently has the Dialogues in poor form (as you have seen), but some of that is the result of the odd formatting in Jowett's volumes. --EncycloPetey (talk) 02:26, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Hello. I have reverted your edits to Page:The Dialogues of Plato v. 2.djvu/7. It was already a validated page, so any changes should be made only cautiously. You redirected all the links to pages in the Page namespace, but they should go to the main namespace, although some of the chapters have not been transcluded yet. head pages

Hi again. When transcluding works, we are work with the published form as the primary, so this case it is the 1892 translation. When we are working with the subpages of a work, we look to still keep it contextual to the publication, though minimise the information that sits at the parental rootpage. So if the root level has a categorisation or edition pertinent information, we don't need to include repeat that information that sits at the root. It also means that when we get to subpages, we still typically keep the title as that of the publication, and the section label picks up the subpage information. I have been through and align with these standards on those transcluding pages. align="center" and why it's being tagged "Deprecated markup"

Hi! Just a quick note about why many of your edits are being auto-tagged with "Deprecated markup": the HTML align attribute is deprecated, not by us here, but by the web standards bodies: e.g. see MDN. Instead of an attribute align=center, you can use CSS like style="margin:auto;. Inductiveload—talk/contribs 07:48, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

That template produces CSS, so it is not affected by the deprecation of the align HTML attribute. The name of the template parameter is the same ("align") but it's otherwise unrelated. Inductiveload—talk/contribs 18:55, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

You didn't need any workaround. The correct markup is to use style="margin:auto;. Like this: Special:Diff/11720351. Yes the phrase "margin:auto" is much less obvious than "align=center", but they didn't ask us when they wrote the HTML5 specification. :-D Inductiveload—talk/contribs 17:25, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
